LO5: Copyright PRS & Legal and Ethical issues

Copyright is an intellectual property that will give us permission to play songs on our shows that are made and owned by the artists. on our show we will feature a variety of songs on our show so we would need copyright for the funk/soul/RnB songs we want.

Both shows would have a PRS licence to enable us to play music which will cost £300 per year and this will be funded by advertisers

Our shows will abide by OFCOM regulations by not being offensive and promoting inappropriate material and/or activity.

Legal and Ethical issues we would need to look into as a show is checking all the features of the show to make sure that there is nothing offensive to the listeners. Topics we would check for would be

  • Religion
  • Sexuality
  • explicit Language or Content
  • Sexism
  • Size Discrimination
We would also make sure that nothing is aired that would promote any illegal activity, such as drug use, or underage drinking.

In pre prodcution we would also check through the show to make sure that we are not promoting drinking alcohol, we will check through the script to make sure that we are only talking about having a good night in certain venues but without mentioning drinking to have a good night.
